"Why 1820," by Hyrum Smith is a devotional given at Ricks College on September 27th, 1988. In this devotional a man named Hyrum Smith goes into detail about what occurred for the ancient Church of Jesus Christ to fall into apostasy. Then, the speaker explains how the world was prepared for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be established on the Earth once again. There are many things that had to come about for it all to work, and the Lord was watching over the land and the people for years. It is a powerful talk on the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
